Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Nazrul has firmly stated that Bangladesh remains adamant about not traveling to India for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Following a high-level meeting with BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul on Wednesday, Nazrul emphasized that player safety and national dignity are non-negotiable.

"We want to play the World Cup, but we prefer Sri Lanka as the venue," Nazrul said. He expressed confidence that ICC would understand Bangladesh's logic regarding security concerns and current diplomatic tensions. The move comes shortly after controversy regarding Mustafizur Rahman's exclusion from an IPL team, further straining sporting ties.
