Venezuela to Respond to US Aggression Through Diplomacy
Venezuela’s Interim President, Delcy Rodríguez, has pledged to counter United States' aggressive actions through diplomatic means. In a statement reported by international news outlet TRT World, she asserted that Caracas will respond to the abduction of Nicolás Maduro through peaceful and diplomatic channels.
Rodríguez revealed that she has held telephonic discussions with the leaders of Brazil, Colombia, and Spain regarding the incident of Maduro's removal. During these talks, she reiterated that Venezuela intends to confront this aggression through diplomacy rather than pursuing military or escalatory paths.
Analysts suggest that Venezuela has recently undertaken significant political initiatives as part of an effort to ease tensions with the United States. Last Thursday, the country released a large number of political prisoners, including several foreign nationals. This move is being viewed as the beginning of a new political settlement.
This marks the first large-scale release of political prisoners under the leadership of Delcy Rodríguez since Maduro was ousted. The initiative has garnered support from U.S. President Donald Trump, who publicly expressed satisfaction. Trump stated that as long as Venezuela grants the U.S. access to its oil sector, he is prepared to allow the Rodríguez-led government to function effectively.
International observers believe that relations between Venezuela and the United States have reached a new diplomatic crossroads following these developments.
