Three Arrested with Drugs and Weapons in Rangunia; Abducted Man Rescued

A man named Rubel (30) has been rescued during a joint forces operation in Rangunia, Chattogram. Three individuals were arrested during the raid, which also led to the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, local weapons, and cash.

According to army sources, the operation was conducted on Friday night, January 9, at the residence of Didar Alam in the Fakirbari area of Balughat (Ward 8), under the Pomra union. The joint forces launched the raid following a specific allegation of abduction.

The arrestees have been identified as: Shahed Hasan (35), son of Danu Member from Pomra Union, Obaidul Mostafa Sourav (31), son of Abdul Karim from Pomra Union, Md. Abdus Salam (22), son of Moju Miah from Ward 9 of Betagi Union.

During the search of the arrestees' premises, law enforcement recovered 882 pieces of Yaba, 3.1 kg of Marijuana, and various local weapons, including machetes, cleavers, daggers, knives, and hammers. Additionally, three passports, five smartphones, four feature phones, and 105,890 BDT in cash were seized.

Army sources stated that Obaidul Mostafa Sourav has long been involved in drug trafficking in the Rangunia area. Md. Arman Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangunia Model Police Station, confirmed that a case has been filed against the suspects, and they have been sent to jail through the court.
