Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called upon the United States to abduct Ramzan Kadyrov, the President of Russia’s Chechen Republic. Zelensky believes such a move would "teach a lesson" to Russian President Vladimir Putin and potentially influence the establishment of peace in Ukraine.

In a message posted on Telegram, Zelensky praised recent U.S. operations in Venezuela and stated, "Now the U.S. should conduct a similar operation against Kadyrov. This will teach Putin a lesson."

In response, Kadyrov remarked that he finds such threats amusing. Known as "Putin's Foot Soldier," Kadyrov has been a loyal and trusted ally of the Kremlin since becoming the President of Chechnya in 2007.

Historically, after the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, Chechen separatists failed twice to gain independence from Russia. Kadyrov fought alongside Russian forces in those conflicts and currently serves as a top commander in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Analysts suggest that an attempt to abduct Kadyrov would significantly escalate international political tensions and could create instability within the Russian military command on the battlefield.
