Barrister Fuad Collects Tk 40 Lakh in Donations Within 3 Days

Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, General Secretary of the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party, has received approximately Tk 40 lakh in donations over just three days for his election campaign. He is contesting the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election from the Barishal-3 (Muladi–Babuganj) constituency.

On Wednesday night, January 7, Barrister Fuad shared this information through a post on his official Facebook page. He revealed that he has received a total of Tk 3,966,556 in financial support from supporters both at home and abroad.

The total number of voters in his constituency is 332,101. According to Election Commission (EC) regulations, the maximum expenditure limit for a candidate is calculated at Tk 10 per voter, setting his spending limit at Tk 3,321,010. Notably, the donations received have already exceeded this official limit.

In his post, Barrister Fuad provided a detailed breakdown of the funds collected as of Wednesday night: bKash: Tk 1,923,552, Nagad: Tk 235,056, Bank Account: Tk 1,807,948.

Expressing gratitude to his donors, he stated that a decision regarding the surplus funds would be made in accordance with Election Commission guidelines. To maintain transparency, all financial documents will be audited, preserved, and eventually submitted to the EC. He also assured full cooperation with the Election Commission or any government financial regulatory body if required.
