10 Arrested Including BNP Leader Over Primary Teacher Recruitment Exam Paper Leak in Kurigram
Police arrested ten individuals for their alleged involvement in leaking the question paper for the primary assistant teacher recruitment exam in Nageshwari, Kurigram. The arrests were made on Friday (January 9) between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, shortly before the exam commenced.
Among those detained is Minarul Islam, the joint convener of the Bamandanga Union unit of the BNP in Nageshwari.
Acting on a tip-off, Nageshwari Police raided a house near an examination center and caught the suspects with photocopies of the question papers and various electronic devices. Abdullah Hil Zaman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nageshwari Police Station, stated that they are currently verifying whether the seized copies match the actual exam papers. The detainees include residents from Madaripur, Phulbari, and Nageshwari.
The recruitment exam started at 3:00 PM on Friday across 38 centers in Nageshwari, Ulipur, and Kurigram Sadar, with a total of 24,274 candidates participating. Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty of attempting to compromise the transparency of the examination process.
